ARGYLE - Belmont senior Jeni Freiburger fired a no-hitter Thursday to lead the Braves to a 12-0 win over the Orioles. Freiburger, who went 20-5 last year in leading Belmont to the Division 4 state tournament, walked just one and struck out eight.

"She's one of the best pitchers in Division 4. She's fantastic," Argyle head coach Heidi Ganshert said. Kayla Ostby pitched six innings for the Orioles, and surrendered six walks while striking out two. Argyle (2-1) will host Albany Monday for their Six Rivers East conference opener.

Riverdale 17, Darlington 2

MUSCODA - The Chieftains scored 15 unanswered runs over the first two innings to roll past the Redbirds, 17-2, Thursday in SWAL Conference action. Riverdale got 10 hits to go along with 11 walks. Juniors Amber Peters, Elle Westerman, and Savannah Winters each belted a double for the Redbirds, but they managed only one other base hit off Riverdale pitchers Brianna Williamson and Kaitlyn McCormick. Darlington (0-3) will travel to Shullsburg-Benton for a non-conference game today.
