ARGYLE - Sixteen digs from senior Jenna Langmeier helped the Argyle volleyball team pick up its 12th win of the season Thursday over Pecatonica.
The Orioles topped the Panthers in three sets, 25-13, 25-18, 25-20 to improve its record to 12-7, 6-1 Six Rivers.
Langmeier also led the Orioles with eight kills, while sophomore Kayla-Butler Paulson led the team with 17 assists. Senior Kylie Johnsen notched three blocks.
For Pecatonica, junior Britt Miller recorded six kills and six blocks, senior Sami Miller had two aces, sophomore Elizabeth Tisch had 12 assists and junior Clara Moen notched six digs.
Argyle coach Jen Butler praised her team for its energy level, noting that Pecatonica has strong servers.
"We just struggled with serve receive the past two games," Butler said. "They (Pecatonica) were placing the ball really well.
"Both teams hustled well. We maintained the momentum, and we were able to take advantage of the opportunties."
Argyle will travel to Juda for a game at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Black Hawk 3, Albany 0
SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk swept Albany in three sets Thursday at home, bringing its conference record to 3-4.
The Warriors kept Albany at 18 points or less in all three sets, winning 25-17, 25-18, 25-17.
Black Hawk head coach Rachel Wolff said Sam Lovelace served up nine aces and scored a total of 21 points over the three sets. Lovelace also came out with seven kills. Jordyn Delzer and Kayla Sigafus each had one block.
Wolff said the victory marks a good start to the second half of their season, and the team is "starting to come around."
Next week the Warriors will take on Monticello, which beat them earlier in the year.
"We've seen them once this season already, and they handled us pretty well," Wolff said.
The game starts at 7 p.m. in Monticello on Tuesday.
Brodhead 3, Palmyra-Eagle 0
BRODHEAD - The Cardinals took down Palmyra-Eagle in three straight sets Thursday, 25-13, 25-11, 25-17.
Abby Flescher had a match-high 11 kills and four blocks. Payton Wright had 23 assists and Kylie Moe had four aces.
Barneveld 3, Juda 0
BARNEVELD - Juda lost to Barneveld in three sets Thursday, 25-11, 25-18, 25-11.
Barneveld players Taylor Owens had 12 kills, Kelsee Fargo had 17 assists and Jenna Wright had five aces.
