ARGYLE - Before the storms came rattling through, Argyle and Belmont were able to get an official game into the books. Belmont won the Six Rivers crossover battle 6-1 in five innings.

"I would have like to finish it," Argyle coach Heidi Ganshert said.

Sophomore Kyah Hendrickson started for the Orioles and allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks with zero strikeouts in four innings of work. Natalie Romdenne pitched the fifth inning, allowing one run and a walk. Argyle had four errors.

"We kept them off the bases. Our defense was able to keep us out of a lot of jams," Ganshert said.

Belmont pitcher Sadie Willborn struck out 10 Orioles and allowed just three hits, a walk and a run to get the win.

Morgan Nelson was the lone star at the plate for Argyle, going 1-for-3 with a double. Caitlyn Cushman of Belmont finished 2-for-4.

Argyle took a 1-0 lead after the first inning, but the Braves struck twice in the third and then plated four in the fifth to lock up the game before the inclement weather arrived.

The Orioles (2-8) get back on the field Monday at home against defending WIAA Division 4 state champion Juda-Albany.

Marshall 7, New Glarus 0, 4 innings

MARSHALL - The Glarner Knights were in the midst of being shut out on the road when inclement weather halted their Capitol Conference matchup with Marshall.

The game was called after the fourth inning and the final three innings will not be made up. According to the WIAA and the NFHS rulebook, a game must have five innings to be considered an official game, or 4 ½ innings if the home team is ahead.
