OREGON - Senior Kelsey Jahn scored three goals and juniors Makena Fanning and Holly Kabboord each scored two goals to propel the Panthers to an 8-0 win over Monroe in the Badger South Conference season-opener Thursday.

Oregon, 1-0, (1-0 Badger South), ranked No. 2 in Division 2, scored five first half goals en route to the victory.

"We knew it was going to be a very tough game going in," Monroe coach Miriam O'Neill said. "Obviously, Oregon is a very skilled team. You hope it's a learning experience for them. You hope it will make your game stronger and you learn something from it."

With the loss, Monroe drops to 5-4-2, 0-1 Badger South. Monroe freshman Reily Pond played goalkeeper in the first half and had eight saves. Senior Gwendolyn Ambrose was goalie in the second half and had six saves.
