JUDA - The Orangeville Broncos scored six runs over the first two innings to down the Juda Panthers, 9-3 in non-conference girls softball action Tuesday.
Orangeville's Carley Rote struck out seven, walked two and gave up just three hits to lead the Broncos.
Juda's Amber Ramos, who was a Six Rivers East first-team all-conference selection as a freshman last season, struck out five and walked six while giving up seven hits. Ramos also had a double and an RBI for the Panthers.
"A little bit of rust, but it's correctable. We put the ball in play for the most part. It's good to get the rust out and see where we are," Juda head coach Bill Davis said, assessing the first game of the season.
Juda (0-1) will face Division 4 power Belmont at home Tuesday.
