Nyhus becomes all-time points leader at BHS

BRODHEAD - Senior Eryn Nyhus scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Cardinals to a 62-56 win over Evansville in a Rock Valley Conference clash Tuesday.

With her performance, Nyhus became the all-time leading career scorer in Brodhead girls basketball history, surpassing Kylie Moe with 1,434 points.

Evansville led the Cardinals by two points at the half. Brodhead outscored the Blue Devils 35-27 in the second half. Cardinals sophomore Carissa Purdue added 13 points and senior Brooke Bescup chipped in 11.

Nyhus and Brodhead junior Alexis Oliver each hit two 3s. The Cardinals shot 63 percent at the free-throw line (19 of 30) and the Blue Devils were 60 percent (9 of 15) from the charity stripe.

Evansville's Riley Hazard scored a team-high 13 points.



New Glarus 56, Wisconsin Heights 50

NEW GLARUS - Senior Willow Lee scored a team-high 13 points to propel the New Glarus girls basketball team to a 56-50 win over Wisconsin Heights Tuesday.

The Glarner Knights and Vanguards were tied at the half. New Glarus outscored Wisconsin Heights 32-26 in the second half. The Knights made 48.1 percent from the free-throw line (13 of 27) and the Vanguards shot 60.7 percent (17 of 28).

New Glarus senior Julia Barnaby added 12 points and junior Lexi Krause pitched in 10.
