New Glarus tops Pointers in OT, Argyle falls to IG

MINERAL POINT - The New Glarus boys basketball team had five players reach double figures and the Glarner Knights escaped with an 83-77 overtime win over Mineral Point Monday night.

With the win, New Glarus, ranked No. 3 in the Division 4 WisSports.net Coaches Poll, improves to 10-0 overall. New Glarus senior Cullen Brooks hit a turnaround jumper down low and the Glarner Knights outscored the Pointers 13-7 in overtime to pull out the win.

"To go on the road and get a win against one of the better teams in Division 4 is great for our program," New Glarus coach Travis Sysko said. "It was a great performance. They have a really talented group over there and coach (Dan) Burrelson does a really good job."

New Glarus junior Jaden Kreklow scored a team-high 22 points. Junior teammate Zach Feller added 19 points and sophomore Connor Siegenthaler had 16 points. Both junior Trevor Gassman and Brooks added 13 points. Kreklow and Siegenthlaer each knocked down four 3-pointers.

Mineral Point's Chance Wendhausen scored a game-high 25 points and made 8 of 9 free throws. The Knights were 11 of 13 shooting from the free throw line and the Pointers were 18 of 20.



Argyle 51, Iowa-Grant 39

ARGYLE - Senior Brent Ritschard scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Orioles past Iowa-Grant Monday.

Argyle (2-7) led by just one point at the half. The Orioles outscored the Panthers 27-14 in the second half. Argyle's Clay Ritschard added 9 points and sophomore Gavin Johnson chipped in 8 points.
