New Glarus rolls past Monticello in opener

MONTICELLO - Junior sharpshooter Zach Feller scored a game-high 31 points to help the New Glarus boys basketball team roll to a 79-28 season-opening win over Monticello Saturday.

Feller scored 24 of his points in the first half and drilled four 3-pointers to lead the Knights. New Glarus sophomore Connor Siegenthaler added 11 points.

New Glarus jumped out to a 29-point lead at the half. The Knights outscored the Ponies 30-8 in the second half. New Glarus junior Jaden Kreklow added 8 points. New Glarus knocked down 10 three-pointers as a team, including two by Kreklow.

Monticello junior Jeffrey Ace had a team-high 9 points.
