NEW GLARUS - Senior guard Trey Taylor scored a team-high 22 points to lift the New Glarus boys basketball team to a 65-62 win over Cambridge Tuesday night.

New Glarus (7-5, 2-0 Capitol South) took a 25-23 lead at the half and never trailed the rest of the way.

"We only play 10 conference games so they are all big," New Glarus coach Travis Sysko said. "We didn't want to fall one game behind in conference after playing two games. We were fortunate to get a win and stay on the top of the conference standings. Hopefully, we can continue that trend Friday night against Wisconsin Heights."

New Glarus senior Austin Schlueter added 16 points and hit three 3-pointers. Freshman teammate Zach Feller scored 15 points. The Glarner Knights made six 3-pointers as a team.

"We didn't have to rely on one or two guys to do it," Sysko said. "We have had seven different guys in double figures this year. We have several different guys we can count on."

Cambridge's J.T. Parish scored a game-high 27 points. Brandon Jarlsberg added 15 points for the Blue Jays.

In other action, Brodhead beat Palmyra-Eagle 61-55 in overtime and Darlington defeated Platteville 54-45.
