BELLEVILLE - The postseason awards keep rolling in for the Sugar River girls soccer team as six Raiders were named first-team All-Capitol Conference recently.
Sugar River junior Vanessa Narveson was named the Capitol Conference Player of the Year and was first-team all-conference as a forward. Junior teammate Taylor Legler was also first-team all-conference as a forward.
The other first-team all-conference selections for the Raiders were junior Nicole Sanders (midfielder), Hannah Jones as a unanimous selection (defender), senior Jamie Ott (defender) and senior Paige Natzke (goalkeeper).
The Raiders also had two honorable mention players, junior Brooke Larson (forward) and junior Abbi Lahey (defender).
Sugar River finished the season 19-4-1 and lost a WIAA Division 3 sectional semifinal 2-1 to Madison Edgewood. The Raiders were just two wins away from a state berth.
The Raiders won the Capitol Conference championship and were ranked No. 4 in the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state poll.
