Monticello has six honored

MONTICELLO - The accolades keep rolling in for the Monticello softball team, with six Ponies receiving Six Rivers East All-Conference honors.

Monticello had five players named first team all-conference including junior pitcher Claire Bruns, sophomore infielder Jordan Garrison, sophomore Alyssah Kubly at utility, junior Marissa Berg at catcher and senior Jordyn Kubly in the outfield. Taylor Gafner also received honorable mention all-conference.

Barneveld junior Kristen Udelhofen was named first-team all-conference as a pitcher and was named the conference's player of the year. Monticello and Barneveld shared the conference title, and the Ponies defeated the Eagles 7-4 to win the regional title.

Argyle senior Kayla Ostby and sophomore Jenna Langmeier were named first-team all-conference infielders. Juda-Albany senior Jessica Rackow was also named all-conference as an infielder. Argyle junior Alysha Monahan received first team at catcher. Other area first-team all-conference players included Juda-Albany junior Tabatha Davis, Pecatonica senior Michelle Francois and Black Hawk junior Jen Wellnitz.

Juda-Albany had two players receive honorable mention all-conference in seniors Kirstie Kauk and Carlie Peters. Argyle's two honorable mention players were junior Jessica Treuthardt and senior Rachel Tollakson. The honorable mention players for Pecatonica were Emma Marion and Cora Demler.
