Monticello clinches conference title

BLANCHARDVILLE - The Monticello volleyball team clinched the Six Rivers East Conference championship outright by sweeping three sets from Pecatonica Tuesday.

Monticello (15-2, 11-0 Six Rivers East) knocked off Pecatonica 25-18, 25-21, 25-12.

"The girls knew what was at stake - the outright conference championship," Monticello coach Scott Smice said. "We played kind of nervous."

Monticello senior Alyssah Kubly had a team-high seven kills and senior Paige Dilley added four kills.

Senior teammate Jordan Garrison racked up 15 assists and senior Brecklyn Kloesterman had three blocks. Hallie Chicker had three aces for the Ponies.

"Serving has been a key for us all year," Smice said. "We had a lot of good serves to keep their offense off-balance."

Pecatonica's Molly Hendrickson had five kills and six blocks. Elizabeth Tisch had 15 assists and Britt Miller added two blocks.



Argyle 3,

Black hawk 0

ARGYLE - After a tough loss to Monticello, Argyle rebounded and took care of business beating Black Hawk 25-20, 25-12, 25-9.

Argyle senior Jenna Langmeier had nine kills, 12 digs and one block. It marked a pink-out cancer fundraiser for both teams.

"We raised a lot of money for cancer," Argyle coach Jen Butler said. "I want to thank both communities for the support."

Argyle junior Hannah Saalsaa had five kills and three aces. Sophomore teammate Kayla Butler-Paulson dished out 21 assists and Katrina Carter had eight digs. Ashley Bruehlman had five aces in the final set. With the win, Argyle improves to 11-5, 9-2 Six Rivers East.

Black Hawk's Sam Lovelace had four kills and two aces. Black Hawk freshman Hannah Herbst had a team-high five kills. Junior Aleigha Sigafus delivered three kills.



Juda 3,

Albany 0

JUDA - Sophomore Sara Jordan had nine kills to propel Juda to a 25-9, 25-21, 25-11 win over Albany.

Juda senior Morgan Adkins and sophomore Alexis Goecks each added five kills for the Panthers.



Cambridge 3,

New Glarus 0

NEW GLARUS - Cambridge rolled to a three-set sweep of New Glarus.

The Blue Jays beat New Glarus 25-16, 25-17, 25-15.

New Glarus senior Breanne Krelkow had 17 assists. Devon Boll and Ashley Clark each had 13 digs.
