MONROE - The postseason accolades continue to roll in for Monroe junior Sydney Hilliard. The Wisconsin-commit guard was named first-team all-state according to the Associated Press.
Unlike the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association, the AP does not separate players based on divisions or enrollment. Black Hawk sophomore Natalie Leuzinger and Darlington junior Kaylee Meyers were each named honorable mention.
Joining Hilliard on the first-team was Sydney Levy, a senior from Appleton North, Hailey Oskey (sr, Seymour), Shemera Williams (jr, Milwaukee Academy of Science), and Player of the Year, Milwaukee King junior Sydnee Roby.
Hilliard averaged 22.3 points per game, leading the Cheesemakers to a second-straight state tournament berth and breaking the program scoring record. She committed to play for the University of Wisconsin last weekend and had been pursued by more than nine NCAA Division 1 schools.
Williams led the state in scoring at an unprecedented 39.9 points per game. Both Williams and Roby have been offered scholarships from Wisconsin, as well as multiple other Division 1 programs. Levy is committed to play at UW-Milwaukee next season, and Oskey will play for UW-Green Bay this fall.
Hilliard's Badger South rival McKenna Warnock (jr, Monona Grove), who has offers from 52 Division 1 schools including the Badgers, was named second-team all-state. Caitlin Link of Madison Edgewood, another Badger South conference player, was named to the fourth-team.
