MOUNT HOREB - The Monroe High School girls 400-meter relay team continues to set a high standard.

The Cheesemakers' quartet of junior Josie Eberle, senior Isabel Bazley, senior Abby Oudinot and freshman Cammi Ganshert won the race in 51 seconds, which is the fourth best time in the history of the Monroe girls track program, in a non-scored quadrangular meet against Mount Horeb, Stoughton and Oregon on Thursday.

"That time should take them far in the postseason," Monroe girls track coach Matt Davis said. "The girls did not really load up in this meet.

"Overall, in the events we were trying to excel in, we did. I was quite happy with the results."

Monroe junior Alicia Kuester won the triple jump with a jump of 33 feet, 4 inches and took second in the long jump (16-23⁄4).

Ganshert won the 100-meter dash in 12.56 seconds. Davis said Ganshert's time in the 100 is the second fastest freshman time in the history of the Monroe girls track program.

Monroe sophomore Mya Waterman won the 400 in 1 minute, 3.80 seconds. Sophomore Sydney Mathiason finished first in the 800 (2:56.10). Monroe's Sydney Schultz won the discus (93-0). Eberle won the pole vault (7-6).

Monroe sophomore Kati Symons took second in the 1,600 (6:06), and junior Jordan Hirsbrunner finished second in the shot put (30-10).

"We approached this meet as practice and put some kids in different events," Monroe coach Scott Mosher said. "There were a lot of PRs with the nice weather."

In the boys meet, Monroe's Jason Koller won the 400 (54.10) and sophomore Noah Tostrud was second (54.30). Tostrud finished first in the 800 (2:07.60). The Cheesemakers swept the top three spots in the 3,200: Dylan Scace took first (10:11.50), Drake Ingold second (10:20.20) and Thang Lu third (10:28.20).

Monroe's Trevor Aebly finished second in the 110 high hurdles (16.11).
