PRAIRIE DU SAC - The Monroe boys soccer team extended its winning streak to five games and won the Sauk Prairie Invitational on Saturday.
The Cheesemakers started the invite with a 5-2 win over West Salem. Monroe senior Andrew Aurit scored two goals to propel the Cheesemakers to the win.
"We were really on a scoring blitz this week," Monroe coach Tony Stamm said.
Aurit scored the first goal at 24 minutes, 14 seconds. Patrick Gellings scored a goal at 27:10 and junior Kelli Isaj scored at 38:40 to give the Cheesemakers a 3-0 halftime lead.
Aurit and senior Lucas Goetz scored second half goals to put West Salem away.
Monroe shutout Mosinee 5-0 in the second game. Goetz started the scoring with a goal at 13:00 on an assist by Matt Bush. Michael Gross, Mitch Marty, Aurit and Isaj each scored goals. Gross had two assists.
