STOUGHTON - The Monroe High School girls soccer team played to a scoreless tie against Stoughton in its final regular-season game on Friday.
Monroe sophomore goalie Anna Latimer had nine saves.
"The girls played hard and moved the ball well as a team," Monroe coach Kyle Kasten said. "We are happy with the results going into the playoffs on Thursday."
Monroe (7-8-3, 1-4-1 Badger South) received an eighth seed in the WIAA Division 3 Madison Edgewood sectional and will host ninth-seeded Mauston in a regional semifinal game at 5 p.m. Thursday at Honey Creek Park.
If the Cheesemakers beat Mauston they would play the winner of top-seeded Madison Edgewood and 16th-seeded Arcadia-Independence in a regional championship game June 3.
Sugar River 2, Lodi 1
BELLEVILLE - Junior Kalin O'Rourke scored two goals to propel the Sugar River girls soccer team to a 2-1 win over Lodi on Thursday.
With the win, Sugar River (19-1, 8-0 Capitol Conference) clinches the outright conference championship.
O'Rourke scored her first goal on an assist from senior Esther Noriega in the sixth minute. O'Rourke scored her second goal in the 63rd minute.
Sugar River goalie Rachael Heittola had six saves.
Sugar River, ranked fifth in the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Associaition state poll, received a No. 2 seed in the WIAA Division 3 Edgewood sectional and will host 15th-seeded Wautoma-Faith Christian-Wild Rose in a regional semifinal Thursday.
