Monroe shoots to third

EVANSVILLE - The Monroe boys golf team finished third place at the Evansville Invitational Friday.

Oregon won the 14-team invite 320-329 over Lodi. Monroe finished third (341). The Cheesemakers had two of the top 10 golfers. Monroe sophomore Nick Baumann shot an 83 to take seventh place and senior Matt Miller also shot 83 for eighth place. Monroe junior Tanner Thompson carded an 84. Monroe's Eric Bush rounded out the top four with a 90.

New Glarus shot 401 as a team. Michael Raskovic had a team-best score of 92 for the Glarner Knights. Max Cruse finished with a 97 for the Knights and Cade Beutler carded a 105. Will Oemichen shot a 107.

Brodhead finished last with a 512. The top two golfers for the Cardinals were Lukas Tresemer and Spencer Sowatzke, who both shot 120.
