Monroe Pee-Wees win opener

MONROE - The Monroe Youth Hockey Pee-Wees (11- and 12 year-olds) opened their 2010-11 season on Halloween, with a 6-5 loss to the Madison Patriots at SLICE.

The Monroe Pee-Wees jumped out to an early lead on three, first-period goals by Tyler Johnson, Jacob Ritschard and Trenten Ryan.

Despite two Monroe goals from Kayla Einbeck in the second period, the Patriots evened the score and pulled ahead in the third period. Monroe goalie Kobe Manor recorded 17 saves.

Johnson, Ryan and Einbeck were each credited with an assist.
