PLATTEVILLE - The Cheesemakers had two champions at Saturday's Platteville Invitational.
Rachel Root won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 19.68 seconds and Leanna Schwartzlow won the 100 breaststroke with a personal best time of 1:11.44.
"We had only a few PR's (personal records) again, but I was reminded that at this point in the season you are not going to get your best times," said Linda Moser Monroe head coach. "They are tired from all the hard work and this is not unusual as you head towards tournament and tapering."
Schwartzlow also was second in the 200 IM (2:19.83) and teamed up with Root, Sarah Kind and Cat Weeden for a fifth-place finish in the 200 medley relay (2:01.87).
Root was third in the 100 backstroke (1:02.21) and joined Kind, Schwartzlow and Angie Beaver to take fifth place in the 200 freestyle relay.
"Jenni Sefcik took 16 seconds off of her 500 time, swimming it in 6:34.04," Moser said. "Cat Weeden also PR'd in the 500 free by a second (6:01.16) and Jenny Meritt PR'd in her 100 free (1:15.44)."
Monroe's next swims Friday at the Badger Conference meet in Fort Atkinson, which starts at 4 p.m.
