BELLEVILLE - Monroe junior Tre Voegeli cleared 11 feet, 1 inch to win a regional championship in the pole vault and break the school record.

Voegeli had a perfect Monday night clearing each height on her first jump at the WIAA Division 2 Belleville regional. Voegeli is one of two individuals and three relays for the Cheesemakers that qualified for the Division 2 Boscobel sectional Thursday.

"It was nice that she had just two events so she could be fresh and go after the big jumps," Monroe girls track coach Doug Miller said. "She was money. That was huge. I don't think she has tapped her potential. She has worked hard and is serious about the pole vault. It's nice for coach Glendenning to get another school record."

The other sectional qualifiers for the Cheesemakers included junior Lauren Werth who finished third in the 100 (13.33), the 400, 1,600 and 3,200 relays. Werth teamed with sophomore Georgie Myers, junior Mafer Larraga and Voegeli to take third in the 400 relay (52.62), which was just 0.12 seconds from first place. The Cheesemakers' 1,600 relay team of freshman Isabel Bazley, junior Therese Hughes, senior Lizzy Dale and Larraga took third (4;16.43). Bazley teamed with Alyssa Dale, Hughes and Lizzy Dale to finish fourth in the 3,200 relay (10:24.62).

Sugar River senior Madeline Brunner won the 800 (2:24.36) and junior teammate Alexis Hanson finished first in the 200 (26.65). Sugar River freshman Lauren O'Connor took third in the 400 (2:33.65). Sugar River senior Emily Diaz took second in the 100 hurdles (16.17) and second in the 300 hurdles (48.58).

"Going into the race, I was focused on the place," Brunner said. "I know the sectional is heated. I wanted to get a good time for the sectional. There is a lot of competition. It was a good tuneup."

Diaz teamed with Emily DeNure, Brunner and Hanson to take first (1:48.93).

Brodhead-Juda junior Meg Duffield finished second in the 400 (1:02.79) and teammate Camilla Klar was fourth (1:05.59). Brodhead-Juda's Alicia Condon took second in both the shot put (33-10) and discus (116-5 1/2). Brodhead-Juda junior Carly Mohns finished third in the discus (109-7 1/2) and fourth in the long jump (16-0 3/4). The Cardinals' 3,200 relay team took third (10:03.81) 1,600 relay team took fourth (4:18.68).

"I always have a hard time in the outside lanes," Duffield said of the 800. "I'm going on. I guess that is all that matters."
