MONROE - The Monroe softball team's path to a potential state tournament run will begin at Twining Park.

Monroe (14-6, 9-2 Badger South) received a No. 3 seed and will host Edgerton in a WIAA Division 2 quarterfinal at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Twining Park. The WIAA released the regional seeds and pairings Thursday after coaches' meetings Wednesday.

Three of the seven teams in Monroe's regional are ranked in the top 10 in Division 2. Beloit Turner (17-1) is ranked No. 2 in the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association. Delavan-Darien is ranked No. 9 and Monroe is ranked No. 10.

"We are seeded probably where we should be," Monroe coach Dale Buvid said. "Our regional is probably one of the toughest regionals in the state. There is just one team under .500. It's a tough road to hoe. We are trending up. We have certainly played well against some of the big teams."

No. 7 Darlington at No. 2 Iowa-Grant
