BELOIT - The Monroe Brewers lost to Orfordville 3-2 in the Home Talent Night League playoffs Thursday.
Orfordville scored three runs in the second inning off Monroe pitcher Adam Francour. The Brewers came back and scored two in the third.
Francour pitched six innings and gave up three runs on six hits. He struck out six and walked one. The Brewers were limited to just four hits.
"They are the No. 1 seed," Brewers co-player manager Lon Scheuerell said. "I thought we played well. They threw their Sunday League pitcher. We saw a really good pitcher and that will hopefully prepare us for Sunday."
Monroe will host Argyle in the first round of the Western Section Sunday League playoffs at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
