MONROE - The Monroe Brewers ran into some bad luck, hitting into three double plays en route to a 5-2 Home Talent League loss to Dodgeville Sunday.

"I thought we played a pretty good game today up until the last three innings," Brewers co-manager Lon Scheuerell said. "That is the way it has been going. There are three balls we hit hard and they ended up being double plays. We have lost a lot of close games. We could easily be 8-7 or 9-6."
Mitch Marty pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up four runs (two earned) on seven hits. He struck out three and walked one. Brewers co-player manager Rooney Janecke pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief and gave up just one earned run on four hits.
Kramer Henning went 3-for-5 with two doubles to lead the Brewers. Janecke went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Scheuerell was 2-for-3.
