DODGEVILLE - The Monroe Brewers fell 5-1 to Dodgeville Sunday in Home Talent League action.
Monroe scored its only run in the fourth inning. Tyler Goninen singled, but beat out a rundown between first and second base on a steal attempt. He then stole third when no defender was covering. Rooney Janecke drove him in.
Dodgeville scored all five of its runs in the sixth, starting with back-to-back errors. Monroe's defense had four errors in the game.
Justin Hahn took the loss on the mound for Monroe, throwing all eight innings, striking out seven and allowing eight hits. Monroe's offense struck out six times and had six hits. Goninen and Adam Siegenthaler were each 2-for-4 at the plate.
The Brewers host Blanchardville May 16.
