ARGYLE - The Monroe Brewers followed the lead of ace Cody Boals to pick up a 5-2 win over the Argyle Beavers in a Home Talent Sunday Night League makeup game Tuesday.
Boals tossed a complete game for Monroe (11-4), striking out 13 and allowing just five hits and three walks. Boals also went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in the first and scored a run in the eighth.
Mitch Marty was 2-for-4 for Monroe with an RBI and run scored and Lon Scheuerell was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Jarrett Bauman took the loss on the hill for Argyle (8-6).
Monroe hosts Hollandale Sunday. A win or Wiota loss would give Monroe the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the upcoming playoffs.
