MONROE - The Monroe baseball team received a No. 5 regional seed and will open the postseason on the road.

Monroe (2-17) will play at fourth-seeded Clinton at 4:45 p.m. Friday, May 24.

"Everyone in the regional voted us the No. 5 seed," Monroe coach Dustin Huffman said. "I'm fine with the five. When you only win two games all year, you don't have much to argue. Maybe if we beat Beloit Turner last Monday we have something to go on for the No. 4 seed."

One of Monroe's two wins came against Parkview, which was the Division 3 state runner-up last year.

"If we make the routine plays, we can play with anyone," Huffman said.

Brodhead-Juda (1-12) received a No. 6 seed and will play at No. 3 seed Big Foot. The other matchups Friday include:

Division 3

No. 5 Belleville at No. 4 Darlington, 3 p.m.

No. 6 New Glarus at No. 3 Mineral Point

Division 4

No. 5 Southwestern at No. 4 Pecatonica, Thursday, 4:30 p.m.

No. 6 Belmont at No. 3 Argyle, Thursday, 5 p.m.

No. 5 Monticello at No. 4 Albany

No. 1 Black Hawk received first-round bye.
