Monroe baseball edges Hollandale

HOLLANDALE - Kramer Henning had a big day at the plate to lead the Monroe Brewers to a 9-7 win over Hollandale in a Home Talent Western Section League game on Sunday.

Henning went 3 for-5 with two doubles and five RBIs. Henning had a two-run double in the fifth and he added a two-run double in a five-run seventh.

Brewers co-player manager Rooney Janecke had an RBI double in the seventh and Adam Scherer had an RBI single. Drew Geissbuhler went 2-for-4 and Scherer was 2-for-5.

Janecke picked up the win on the mound in relief. He pitched five innings and gave up two runs on five hits. He struck out one and walked one.

Kris Rieder started and went four innings. He gave up five runs on eight hits.
