MONONA - Monona Grove's Shanda Roeming scored two goals to propel the Silver Eagles to a 2-0 win over Monroe Monday, April 22.

Roeming scored her first goal at 36 minutes, 41 seconds. She added a second half-goal with just 38 seconds left in the game.

"It was an extremely fast and physical game," Monroe coach Miriam O'Neill said. "I don't think the score reflects how good of a match it was. After missing a lot of games due to the weather, you would think we would be rusty. We played about as good as we could play."

Roeming's first goal about 5 minutes before the half was tough for the Cheesemakers, which dropped to 0-3, 0-1 Badger South.

"It was just a lack of focus for a couple of minutes," O'Neill said.

Monroe junior goalkeeper Shyanna Kelley had 12 saves.

"She had a fantastic game," O'Neill said. "She made some key saves for us."
