MILTON - The Monroe boys golf team lost its second straight Badger South Conference match dropping a dual to Milton 162-168 Thursday.
Monroe sophomore Nick Baumann shot a 4-over-39 to lead the Cheesemakers. Monroe's Devon Boeck carded a 41 and senior Matt Miller shot a 43. Junior Tanner Thompson rounded out the top four golfers for the Cheesemakers shooting a 45.
"We still can't get over the hump," Monroe coach Braden Rindy said. "We can't get everyone shooting well at the same time. We still feel like we will be competitive."
The Cheesemakers were coming off a two shot loss to Oregon Tuesday.
Monroe (0-2 Badger South) will host Monona Grove Monday at the Monroe Country Club. The Cheesmakers are looking for their first conference win.
Rindy said it's a must-win match.
"It's go-time now if we want to have a chance at conference at all," Rindy said.
