MONONA - The Monroe Cheesemakers know all too well what it's like to lose in overtime. That's because its happened twice to them in less than a week. Five days after an overime loss to Sugar River, the Cheesemakers fell to the Monona Grove Silver Eagles, 3-2 in overtime Tuesday.

Monona Grove scored first in the 14th minute on a goal by Sean Kim, but the Cheesemakers answered with a goal by senior Kelli Isaj at 26 minutes, 3 seconds, assisted by freshman Blake Duffy.

Isaj's unassisted goal in the 39th minute gave the Cheesemakers a 2-1 halftime lead before the Silver Eagles tied it on Joe Hoftbauer's unassisted goal at 75:51.

It remained 2-2 at the end of regulation to set up sudden death overtime. Monona Grove got the game winner at 82:13 on a shot that struck a Monroe defender and went into the net.

Senior goalkeeper Kramer Henning collected 16 saves for the Chessemakers. Monroe (7-10-1) will travel to Mount Horeb Thursday.
