WISCONSIN DELLS - Darlington-Cuba City's Ali McCauley failed to qualify for state by one stroke at Wednesday's girls golf sectional at Trapper's Turn.

McCauley shot a 91 on the day, which included a bogey on the final hole, putting her one stroke over a 90. Three other girls who finished with a 90 held a playoff for the final individual qualifying spot.

McFarland's Annie Culver defeated Lancaster's Shannon Farrey and Arcadia's Janelle Dekan on the first hole of the playoff.

Only three individuals whose team did not reach state could qualify. Osseo-Fairchild's Addie Vold (88) and Eau Claire Regis' Katie Pokrondt (81) were the other two to qualify.

McCauley's teammate, junior Nellie Black, shot a 96.

Madison Edgewood (330) and Edgerton (377) were the only two teams to qualify. Edgerton's Alyssa Ferrell shot a meet-low 78.
