The Monroe Mat Rats had four first-place finishes and the Brodhead Wrestling Club had one at the Mineral Point tournament Sunday that featured more than 500 competitors.
For the Mat Rats, Allen Wand and Brady Schuh finished first in the K-2 Division while Patrick Rielly and Alex Witt had top finishes in the
3-4 Division.
Second-place finishes were posted by Christian Schuh
(K-2), Jack Dubach (K-2) and Cole Murray (7-8). Louis Armstrong (K-2), Zack Steele (K-2), Lukas Anderson (3-4), Luke Dubach (3-4), Timothy Andersen (5-6) and Wyatt Heimann (5-6) posted third-place finishes.
Jeffery Williams (5-6) posted the Brodhead Wrestling Club's first-place finish while Taetum Hoesly (K-2) finished second. Shyleigh Condon (K-2), Kaden Harper (3-4) and Tyler Hoesly (7-8) finished third.
Brodhead also had five champions at a Janesville tournament on Saturday. Kindergartners Marcus McIntyre and Grayson Erb each went 3-0 with three pins, while second graders Gage Boegli and Aaron Makos both finished first - Erb with three pins and Makos with two. Third grader Lucas Steiner also finished first with a 3-0 mark.
Second-place finishers were second graders Jacob Arnsmeier and Dominic Taylor, third grader Brayden Erb and sixth grader Kaleb Erb. Kindgartner Gunner Boegli finished third.
