OREGON - Monroe head soccer coach Tony Stamm figures it will be tough for anyone to go undefeated in the Badger Conference this season. Now, he's hoping he's right.

The Cheesemakers suffered their first conference loss this season at the hands of the undefeated Oregon Panthers, 1-0, Tuesday.

The Panthers got the game's lone goal at 15 minutes, 14 seconds to spoil a great game by goalkeeper Jordan Steurer, who had 15 saves.

"We gave a hard effort. We just couldn't get it into the net," Stamm said.

The Cheesemakers couldn't generate enough offense with their main striker, Andrew Aurit, shut out.

"We moved him into different positions, but we couldn't get the ball to him," Stamm said.

Monroe will host Milton at 5 p.m. Sept. 15.
