Witt, Rielly move on at state wrestling

Monroe seniors Alex Witt (182 pounds) and Patrick Rielly (160 pounds) each won their preliminarily matches Thursday night at the WIAA Division 2 state wrestling meet.

Both wrestlers move on to Friday morning matches.

Witt defeated Kaiden Mikalowsky of Chilton/Hilbert 7-0 in the first round and will face Baldwin-Woodville's Blaine Guthrie sometime after 11:15 a.m.

Rielly scored a 15-0 technical fall over Preston Potaczek of Stanley-Boyd/Owen-Withee. Rielly faces Grafton's Ellis Pfleger in the quarterfinals Friday.

Monroe's Brady Schuh (126) lost his match to Wrightstown's Kaiden Koltz by second round pinfall.

Darlington-Black Hawk's Carson Lobdell (195) lost by a 7-3 decision to Amery's Kale Hopke.

Pecatonica-Argyle junior Noah Krahenbuhl (D3 126) had a first round bye and will face Carl Large of Ozaukee after 11:15 a.m. Friday.
