Turner upends New Glarus

BELOIT — The Glarner Knights lost a tough nonconference game to Turner on Dec. 30, 54-41.

The host Trojans (8-2) Led 23-19 at halftime and went on to outscore New Glarus 31-22 in the second half.

Jayla Hodges and Kaylee Kramer led Turner. Hodges had 22 points and seven rebounds. Kramer added 10 points, seven rebounds, six assists, five steals and five blocks. The Trojans shot 42.4% in the game. Turner players were just 3-for-14 (21.4%) from 3-point land, but made up for it by shooting 16-for-31 (51.6%) from inside the arc.

New Glarus (3-4) turned the ball over 22 times. The Knights return to action Jan. 3 against Lakeside Lutheran (3-6), and then host Albany-Monticello (10-0) in a nonconference game Jan. 6. 

Capitol Conference action kicks off for New Glarus with a Jan. 9 date at Marshall (2-10), and the Highway 69 rivalry game at Belleville (6-3) Jan. 14.
