BELLEVILLE — The defending Division 3 state champions strengthened their schedule with games against Edgewood and Aquinas on Oct. 3 and 5.

The Raiders (8-3-3; 4-0-0 Capitol) fell 1-0 to the Crusaders (8-1-2; 4-0-1 Badger Small) on Oct. 3. Both teams currently lead their respective conferences. Last season, the two teams tied during the regular season before Sugar River defeated Edgewood 2-1 in a WIAA Division 3 sectional final.

On Saturday, Sugar River drew 0-0 with Division 4 Aquinas (10-2-3).

Monroe’s game against Big Foot scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 3 is rescheduled to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
