Sugar River thumps Luther Prep 5-0

NEW GLARUS — Sugar River got up early and never looked back, scoring a clean sheet 5-0 victory over Watertown Luther Prep Sept. 26.

Charlie Douma scored at the 8:36 mark in the first half to put the Raiders on the board, putting in a touch off a pass from Ryan Downing. Breckin Faber would add a pair of goals in the first half to put Sugar River up 3-0 at the break. Downing and Tyler Lueschow assisted Faber’s goals.

In the second half, Lueschow put a shot into the back of the net in the 51st minute off a pass from Carter Siegenthaler, who then scored himself six minutes later.

The Raiders finished the night with nine shots on goal and three corners. Luther Prep put only four shots on goal in the game.

Julian Lutz had three saves for the Raiders, while teammate Cameron Kleighboer had one.
