The Sugar River Raiders swept the lower weight classes and won five straight weight classes beginning with 150 pounds to defeat the Whitewater Whippets 48-35 in nonconference dual meet action on
Tuesday, Jan. 27. At 106 pounds, freshman Madox Mau pinned freshman Elijah Wieland of Whitewater in 57 seconds. The Raiders followed with another pin by freshman Kyan Lentz in 56 seconds over freshman George Christon. Freshman Brooks Knauss pinned junior Esteban Lopez Villanueva at 126 pounds in 5:59 to make it three pins in a row for the Raiders.
Senior Ashlin Mihlbauer got a pin at 150 pounds in 1:31 over junior Dahlton Vogel. That was the first of five pins in a row for the Raiders. At 157 pounds, freshman Bronko Baer pinned sophomore Cristian Aranda of Whitewater in 58 seconds. Senior Lukas Loshaw of Sugar River won over senior Max Babcock with a fall at 1:10. Senior Cayson Helwig picked up a win at 175 pounds with a pin of
sophomore Henry Brockwell in 56 sec-onds. At 190 pounds, sopho- more Brady Baer pinned junior Travor Piper in 1:05. The meet featured 13 pins, eight by the Raiders, and one technical fall for all of the scoring. Sugar River was scheduled to wrestle with Monroe at the Turner Triple Dual on Thursday, Jan. 29.

EDGERTON — The Brodhead-Juda Cardinals won three of four matches that were wrestled and received three forfeits to get a 36-23 win over the Edgerton Crimson Tide in Rock Valley Conference wrestling on Tuesday, Jan. 27. At 138 pounds, sophomore Gage Welch pinned freshman William Hickey in 2:54. At 190 pounds, sophomore Rush West defeated junior Aiden Linsley with a fall in 2:53. The 215 pound match saw junior Logan Berzinski get a pin over sophomore Jacob Bush in 1:14. Brodhead-Juda forfeited three weight classes to the Crimson Tide and there were four double forfeits. Brodhead-Juda wrestled at Clinton in another Rock Valley Conference dual meet on Thursday, Jan. 29.
