Evelyn Eckdhal, senior — Monroe 126 pounds

Evelyn Eckdhal won her first match on Thursday with a pin in 1:59 over senior Izzy Evitch. On Saturday, she lost in the quarterfinals to senior Madilyn Peach with a fall in 37 seconds. In the wrestlebacks, she won over senior Alyvia Bahl of Lancaster with a major decision 14-5, but lost in the wrestleback semifinals to senior Kylie Simpson of Hudson with a pin in 4:00.


Althea Eckdhal, junior — Monroe 145 pounds, 3rd place

Althea Eckdhal won her first match on Thursday with a technical fall (17-1) in 1:10 over sophomore Brooklyn Hanke of Lancaster. On Friday, she won her next match with a technical fall (15-0) in 4:13 over sophomore Briannna Gehring of Slinger. She wrestled in the semifinals on Saturday, but lost to junior Riley Hanrahan of Black River Falls by pin in 5:00. Eckdahl then won her 3rd place match over Nevaeh Nwachukwu of Saint Croix Falls with a pin in 2:41. 


Addi Treuthardt, freshman — Monroe 152 pounds, 5th place

Treuthardt took fifth place after she won on Thursday with a pin over junior Tessa Felter of Muskego in 2:54. She lost her next match by pin in 1:40 to sophomore Brynlee Vaughn of Wautoma. Treuthardt then beat freshman Penelope Juarez (pin in 1:23), junior Lana Borchardt of Wausau West (pin in 3:53) and junior Candance Freymiller of Fennimore in a 3-1 decision to win 5th place.

As a team, the Monroe girls finished tied for sixth overall in points.


Nora Christensen, senior — Sugar River 235 pounds

Christensen lost her first match on Thursday by pin in 3:10 against senior Ellie Lenzendorf of Waunakee. On Friday, she won her first match in the wrestleback round with a pin over sophomore Lucy Frye of Whitewater, but lost in the consolation quarterfinals to junior Aliviah Walsh of Watertown by pin in 48 seconds.


Division 2 Boys

Madox Mau, freshman — Sugar River 106 pounds, 2nd place

Mau beat Caden Bock of Freedom on Thursday with a pin in 1:47. Later on Thursday, he won by decision 5-1 over freshman Ryan Gartman of Grafton. In the semifinals at 106 he beat sophomore Malakai Barker of Osceloa with a 20-11 major decision. Mau wrestled for the championship at 106 pounds, but lost to sophomore Drey Kren of Regis/Altoona 4-0 to finish in second place.


Division 3 Boys

Layton Gruenenfelder, freshman — Pecatonica-Argyle 113 pounds

Gruenenfelder won his opening match on Thursday over sophomore Sawyer Kundinger of Auburndale with a pin in 2:40. Later Thursday he lost to junior Jaydon LeNoble of Weyauwega-Fremont in a 4-2 decision. Gruenenfelder dropped into the consolation round on Friday and lost to junior Will Kratochvill of Lancaster in a 16-0 technical fall (3:42).


Charlie Krebs, freshman — Pecatonica-Argyle 120 pounds

Krebs lost his opening match on Thursday to junior Caleb Schreiber of Random Lake in a 15-6 major decision. Krebs dropped to the consolation round on Friday and lost to freshman Wyatt Hoffman of Iowa-Grant/Highland in a 13-1 major decision.


Evan Sigafus, sophomore — Black Hawk-Shullsburg-Warren 126 lbs

Sigafus lost in his opening match on Thursday to senior Seth Kessen of Cedar Grove-Belgium in a 7-4 decision. In the consolation bracket, Sigafus lost to junior Holdyn Volkman of Shiocton in an 8-5 decision.


Lukas Orloff, senior — Pecatonica-Argyle 132 pounds, 2nd place

Orloff took second place at 132 pounds by beating senior Mason Demerath of Shiocton on Thursday with a technical fall (18-3) in 2:19. Orloff wrestled junior Jordan Lisiecki of Lomira on Friday in the semifinals and won with a technical fall (24-9) in 4:43. Orloff faced senior McAllister Ramage of Lake Country Lutheran in the championship, but lost in overtime 7-4 and took second place.


Tavin Bomkamp, sophomore — Parkview-Albany 150 pounds, 4th place

Bomkamp took fourth place at 150 pounds after winning his first two matches, with a tech fall in 5:15 over sophomore Nolan Anzia of Cedar Grove-Belgium and over junior Lakota Brewer of Riverdale in a 13-4 major decision. Bomkamp lost to senior Kingston Galetka of Pardeeville in the quarterfinals in a 4-3 decision. He wrestled for third place but lost to senior Benjamin Miller of Wittenberg-Birnamwood by pin in 2:12 to take fourth place.


Elijah Gunn, sophomore — Parkview-Albany 165 pounds

Gunn lost his first match on Thursday to senior Logan Peterson of Cumberland by fall in 3:23. He dropped down to the consolation bracket on Friday where we won over senior Marcus Klar of Aquinas with a pin in 2:45 but lost later on Friday to junior Jacob Dannenberg of Mineral Point in a 9-0 major decision.


Maximo Xolo, freshman — Darlington 175 pounds, 6th place

Xolo won in his opening round match on Thursday with a pin in 1:46 over senior Logan Hendricks of Clinton. Xolo lost his next match on Thursday to senior Seth Race of Cedar Grove-Belgium in a 15-5 major decision. He dropped to the consolation bracket and beat senior Zach Sherman of Peshtigo with a 5-3 decision. He advanced to face senior Max Peterson of Lena for fifth place but lost in an 11-2 major decision and took sixth place.


Calum Crist, junior — Darlington 190 pounds

Crist faced senior Austin Doyen of Crivitz/Wausaukee in his opening round match on Thursday and won 8-5. But later on Thursday, he lost to senior Nolan Hanke of Lancaster by pin in 3:17. Crist dropped to the consolation round lost to senior Ayron DeLeasky in a 2-1 decision.


Gage Ruf, junior — Darlington 215 pounds

Ruf lost in the opening round on Thursday to sophomore Toay Ragatz of Lancaster by pin in 3:38. In the consolation round, Ruf lost to senior Joshua Cebery of Montello with a fall in 2:57.

The Team State Tournament will take place Friday and Saturday, March 6 and March 7 at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse.
