JANESVILLE — The No. 3 seeded Janesville Bluebirds lost to the No. 6 seeded Badger Lightning 4-2 in a WIAA regional quarterfinal on Friday Feb. 20.
The Bluebirds fell behind 2-0 in the second period, but battled back with a goal in the second period by Ava Kligora, and another goal by Kligora early in the third period to tie the game at 2-2. But, the Badger Lightning got two goals in the final three minutes to come away with a 4-2 win to advance to the regional semifinal.
Freshman Micki Andrews of Monroe played for the Bluebirds but did not get a goal or an assist.
The Bluebirds finished the season 6-14-4 overall and 7-5 in the Badger Conference after starting the season 0-8-1.
For the season, Micki Andrews of Monroe scored four goals and had eight assists for a total of 12 points in 23 games played. Hailey Rasmussen of Monroe played in 23 games and scored one goal and had one point. Juliana Strommen of Brodhead played in 16 games but did not have a goal or an assist.
