Redbirds bound for sectionals
Darlington takes 4th at both conference and regionals

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN — Darlington finished fourth at the WIAA Division 2 regional at Prairie du Chien Country Club Wednesday and advanced to Tuesday’s sectional at Pleasant View in Middleton.

Edgewood won the meet with a score of 372, with Edgerton (422) second, Wisconsin Dells (427) third and the Redbirds (459) fourth. Prairie du Chien, Southwestern-Cuba City-Benton and Lancaster all trailed Darlington by 3-27 strokes. All three finished ahead of the Redbirds in the conference meet just two days before.

Kennedy Wagner paced Darlington with a 97. Marissa Gould carded 118, while Maggie Nordqvist (121) and Chloe Muhlstein (123) also added to the team score.

Edgewood had four players tie for medalist honors with a 93.

At Tuesday’s sectional, the top two teams will advance to state as well as the top three individuals.


Darlington 4th at conference

LANCASTER — Darlington took fourth at the conference meet Sept. 24 at Lancaster Country Club. The Redbirds finished with a score of 468, which was behind Southwestern-Cuba City-Benton (417), Prairie du Chien (425) and Lancaster (430).

Kennedy Wagner finished with a 97 for Darlington, coming in fourth place overall. Southwestern-CC-Benton’s Kate Wright was the medalist at 93, beating Prairie du Chien’s Gabbie Ritschard by scorecard handicap.

Marissa Gould shot a 109 for the Redbirds, which also got a 128 from Jada Glendenning and a 134 from Chloe Muhlstein.

Gould and Wagner were named first-team all-conference along with Ritchie, Wright, and Lancaster’s Lindsey Wolf, who was named League MVP for the season.
