Raiders open with a W over Dodge-Point

BELLEVILLE — The Sugar River Raiders opened their girls soccer season with a 3-0 win over Dodgeville-Mineral Point on Tuesday April 7 in nonconference action.

Junior Ellie Brenkman got the first goal of the season for the Raiders at 6:54 in the first half to give Sugar River a 1-0 lead.

Freshman Libby Iserloth scored at 22:20 in the first half on an assist from senior Ella Woodmansee to increase the Raiders lead to 2-0.

The Raiders got in front 3-0 at 48:20 in the second half on a goal by Woodmansee assisted by senior Taya Gilbertson.

Senior Savanah Minter spent 68 minutes in goal with no saves and freshman Sydney Ohms got one save in 12 minutes of action at goalkeeper for Sugar River.

Sugar River (1-0) had Waupun scheduled for a nonconference road match on Thursday April 9 and Platteville-Lancaster scheduled at home for the Raider Invitational on Saturday April 11.
