NEW GLARUS — After a loss last week to Lake Mills, the Sugar River Raiders rebounded with a 2-0 win over first place Lakeside Lutheran in Capitol South conference soccer on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Tikeh Tazeh scored a goal on an assist from Drew Brueggemann at 2:29 in the first half to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead, which they carried through halftime.
In the second half, Tazeh scored again from a Brueggemann assist at 51:28 and the Raiders, putting Sugar River ahead 2-0 lead. The Raiders continued playing stellar defense, earning their eighth clean sheet of the season behind five saves by goalkeeper Taydon DeRouin. Sugar River put 16 shots on goal while Lakeside Lutheran had nine shots on net.
Sugar River (10-2-1) improved to 4-1 in the Capitol South with the win. The Raiders hosted Mt. Horeb in nonconference boys soccer on Thursday, Oct. 2.
