NEW GLARUS — The Sugar River Raiders announced postseason honors June 27.

The team MVP went to senior goalkeeper Rachael Heittola. Brooke Watrud was the Most Improved Player. Sydney Gentilli was the Coaches Award winner, while Peri Erickson and Watrud were Scholastic Award winners.

Heittola, Watrud, Julia McNamer, Kirstin Krantz, Ellie Gentilli and Ellawyn Fong were first-team all-conference in the Capitol Conference, while Emma Anson was second team.

The Raiders, the champions of the Capitol South, regional champions and WIAA Division 3 sectional finalists, won multiple state and national honors as well. Heittola was named all-state honorable mention and made the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association all-star game. Fong made the all-state all-academic team and was an All-American Scholastic team nominee.

Sugar River won the 2019 National Soccer Coaches Association of America United Coaches Ethics and Sportsmanship Platinum Medal after finishing the season with zero yellow cards. The Raiders were also NSCAA Academic All-American Team award-winners with a 3.6 team GPA.
