Pecatonica’s Gruenenfelder, Parkview’s Valley notch career wins

WAUNAKEE — En route to a first-place finish at the Waunakee Warrior Invite on Dec. 14, Pecatonica-Argyle senior Aidan Gruenenfleder notched his 150th career win. Gruenenfelder, ranked No. 1, went 5-0 with three tech falls, a 12-9 decision and a pin of Jaren Grimsled of North Crawford-Seneca in the championship. Grimsled was ranked No. 13.

Viking teammate Lukas Orloff also finished first in his respective weight class, going 5-0. Orloff, ranked No. 3, recorded two tech falls, two pins and a 10-1 major decision over Holmen’s Brock Needham in the championship.


OAKFIELD HOLIDUALS

OAKFIELD — Despite going 0-3 in the annual Oakfield Holiduals on Dec. 14, Parkview-Albany had reason to celebrate as senior Slater Valley earned his 100th career win. He went 3-0 with two forfeits and a tech fall.

Other wins that didn’t include forfeits include Wesley Egan with a pin, Peter Roth with two pins, Balin Lacy with a pin, and Elijah Gunn with a pin.

As a team, Parkview-Albany fell to Oakfield 42-30, Cedarburg 36-23 and Princeton-Green Lake 42-36.


EAST TROY TRIANGULAR

EAST TROY — Monroe went 2-0 in a Rock Valley Conference triangular on Dec. 12, defeating East Troy 42-29 and Turner 47-24. Over the two matches, the Cheesemakers won by decision five times, pin four times, forfeit five times and tech fall four times.
