POYNETTE — The Parkview-Albany girls wrestling team finished in 20th place with 24 points in the 24-team Sleigh Bell Slam wrestling tournament on Saturday, Dec. 27 in Poynette. Princeton/Green Lake won the tournament with 119 points.
Leading the way for Parkview-Albany was junior Serenity Pautsch at 126 pounds. She lost her semifinals match to Winnie Culver of Princeton-Green Lake by pin in 2:58, but Pautsch pinned Brigette Stauffacher of Black Hawk-Shullsburg-Warren in 1:33 to take third place.
At 132 pounds, junior Ayda Klein lost her opening match to freshman Ashlyn Cayetano-Pueblita of Brodhead-Juda by pin at 1:25, but came back with a win over sophomore Ruby Valdez of Beloit Memorial by pin in 1:39. Klein finished in eighth place.
Also at 132 pounds, freshman Avigale Pautsch, as a non-scorer, won matches over Yulian Ortiz of Big Foot-Williams Bay by pin in 5:25 and Harmony Jordan of Ripon by pin in 1:35. Emma Hocking of Black Hawk-Shullsburg-Warren defeated Avigale Pautsch with a pin in 1:57 in the ninth place match.
