ORFORDVILLE — Parkview-Albany wrestling coach Joel Steinmann is now a member of the 100 win club in high school wrestling. Steinmann got his 100th career win on Dec. 15 at Deerfield as Parkview-Albany won a conference quadrangular. Parkview-Albany beat Deerfield 29-27, giving Steinmann his 100th win, then beat Palmyra-Eagle 36-30, and Hustisford 41-9. Individual results from the meet include; Caleb Frint (113) 2-1, Tavin Bomkamp (150/157) 3-0, Balin Lacy (150/157) 2-1, Chase Meyers (157/165) 1-1, Elijah Gunn (167/175) 2-1, Peter Roth (190) 2-1, Rylan Aasen (215) 3-0, and Jagger Wilke (285) 3-0.
On Friday, Dec. 19, Parkview-Albany lady wrestlers Serenity Pautsch, Ayda Klein and Avigale Pautsch went to Mt. Horeb for a Friday night scramble tournament. The team finished in 13th place with 42 team points. Serenity Pautsch (126) won her first championship with a pin in 2:57 over Sophia Soumphonphakdy of Oregon. Klein (132) placed 7th with a fall in :46 over Mt. Horeb’s Bridget Drapp. Avigale Pautsch placed 11th with a Medical forfeit over Whitewater’s Storm DePorter.
On Saturday, Dec. 20th both the boys and girls teams went to the Badger State tournament held at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. With 35 Boys and 52 girls teams, the tournament was set up in 32 person brackets. The girls placed 45th with 17 team points and the boys were 25th with 31 points. Bomkamp (150) took 4th place with a 3-2 record on the day. Gunn (165) DNP and was 2-2, Roth (175) DNP and was 1-2, Aasen (215) DNP and went 0-2. Wilke (285) DNP and was 0-2. On the girls side, Serenity Pautsch (126) DNP and went 1-2, Klein (132) DNP and was 3-2. Avigale Pautsch (138) DNP and was 1-2.
Parkview-Albany boys will be back on the mat Jan. 6 for a conference quad in Rio. The girls will be back on the mat on Saturday, Dec. 27 in Poynette for the Sleigh Bell Slam tournament.
