Palmyra-Eagle soars over Juda

JUDA — Jayden Brown tied the game at 3 with a shot beyond the arc, but Palmyra-Eagle went on to defeat Juda 70-29 in a nonconference game on Monday, Dec. 18. 

Braydon Steinmann paced the Panthers with 12 points, five of which came from the charity stripe. Brown finished with eight points and a team-high seven rebounds. 

MONROE 75, EAST TROY 43

EAST TROY — A Mekhi Brown free throw gave Monroe a 5-4 lead early in a Rock Valley Conference game and the Cheesemakers never looked back. Monroe scored 1.07 points per possession, while East Troy scored just 0.61 points per possession.

Ryan Mathiason tied his career-high 17 points with eight rebounds. James Seagreaves (14 points), Logan Taylor (13 points) and Brown (10) also finished in double figures. Seagreaves grabbed 10 boards for yet another double-double. 

BRODHEAD 77, EVANSVILLE 63

EVANSVILLE — The Cardinals had a 13-point advantage at halftime and maintained the lead en route to a Rock Valley Conference game on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

Cullen Walker tallied 26 points, going 6-for-7 from the free-throw line with a pair of 3s. Jaxon Dooley tallied 17 points, while Gabe Bockhop scored 10. As a team, Brodhead went 12-for-16 from the charity stripe for 75%. 

ALBANY 33, ST. AMBROSE 31

ALBANY — St. Ambrose Academy missed two 3-point attempts in the final 10 seconds, as Albany held on for a nonconference win on Monday, Dec. 18. The victory is the Comets’ third in a row and puts them back at .500 for the season.

Ty Durtschi led Albany with 14 points, going 5-for-5 from the free-throw line with three 3-pointers. He also grabbed a team-high four rebounds. As a team, the Comets shot 46.2% from 3-point range and 87.5% from the line.

ALCS 70, PECATONICA 58

BLANCHARDVILLE — Pecatonica fell to Abundant Life Christian School 70-58 in a nonconference game on Monday, Dec. 18.

Tyler McKeon tallied 25 points with six rebounds, leading the offense. Evan Dochnal also scored in double figures with 10 points. Charles Anderson grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

DODGEVILLE 71, MONTICELLO 30

MONTICELLO — The Ponies grabbed a 4-0 lead in Tuesday’s nonconference game but ultimately fell to the Dodgers 71-30. Monticello bested Dodgeville in one statistical category — free throws (12-for-13; 92.3%).

Ryer Indergand and Carson Gafner paced the Ponies with eight points each. Indergand also led the team in rebounds with six. Fifteen different players scored for Dodgeville.
