PA falls to Fennimore at team sectionals

FENNIMORE — The Pecatonica-Argyle Vikings won the WIAA Division 3 Parkview Regional Feb. 9 and qualified for team sectionals. On Feb. 13, the Vikings faced off against Fennimore in the team sectional semifinal and were routed 74-4.

Easton Schraepfer, battling at 152, defeated Fennimore’s Mason Miles by major decision 8-0, and was Pec-Argyle’s only winner in the 14 head-to-head matches.

Fennimore won by pin in nine different matches, including the heavyweight division, in which Dylan Kehoe pinned Dayne Lawinger in just nine seconds. Pec-Argyle also forfeited the 220-pound weight class.

Fennimore would go on to defeat Riverdale 62-15 to qualify for team state, which will be held March 1-2 at the UW Field House in Madison. Individual state for wrestling is Feb. 21-23 at the Kohl Center in Madison.
