New Glarus remains unbeaten; Pecatonica defeats Benton

NEW GLARUS — Elle Lancaster had a 20-point breakout game, as New Glarus defeated Lancaster 71-34 on Monday, Dec. 5.

The Knights took a 41-24 lead in the first half, with Lindsey Schadewalt scoring 14 points. She was 4-for-6 from the free-throw line, with the rest of her shots inside of the arc. Grace Nommenson and Lancaster also had big first halves with eight and 11 points, respectively.

Lancaster scored nine more points in the second, hitting her second 3-pointer of the game. Megan Peterson and Jordyn Runde, who were scoreless in the first half, found their way into the scorebook with two and four points, respectively.

New Glarus had four players in double figures, led by Schadewalt with 22. Lancaster trailed with 20, while Alex Atwell totaled 11. Nommensen finished with 10.

Lainee Burks was the leading scorer for Lancaster with 15 points, six of which came from beyond the arc.


PECATONICA 63, BENTON 52

BENTON — With 18-point games from both Chloe Schraepfer and Anna Tisch, Pecatonica defeated Benton on Monday, Dec. 5.

Of the pairs’ 36 points, nearly half of them were made from the free-throw line, as Schraepfer went 8-for-10 and Tisch shot 9-for-13. As a team, the Vikings were 21-for-33 from the charity stripe for 63.6%. 

Diana Hendrickson and Loretta Tisch also contributed to the offense with eight and six points, respectively. Hendrickson turned in on in the second half, while Loretta Tisch scored all of her points in the first.

Zoe and Halle Stluka were the leading scorers for Benton with 13 and 14 points, respectively.


FORT ATKINSON 55, MONROE 30

FORT ATKINSON — Although Monroe held Fort Atkinson scoreless for nearly eight minutes, the Cheesemakers suffered another road conference loss on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Taylor Jacobson led the way for Monroe with 16 points. The next highest scorer was Sydnee Conway with four. The Cheesemakers made just one shot from beyond the arc, courtesy of Abbey Matley. At the free-throw line, Monroe shot just 38.8%. 

Elly Kohl tallied 22 points for the Blackhawks with six 3-pointers. Ashlie Riley and Makiah Cave were the next highest scorers with eight points apiece.


ALSM 65, ARGYLE 52

ARGYLE — The Orioles and Challengers were tied at 25 after the first half, but Abundant Life-St. Ambrose pulled away in the second for the victory.

The difference came at the free-throw line, where Argyle was just 8-for-6 while ALSM was 11-for-14.

Hannah Gierhart led Argyle with 21 points. She had two of the Orioles’ four 3-pointers. The other two came from Alexis Rosenstiel and Lexi Wonders. Jaylin Hartwig and Mya McNett totaled 11 points each.

The Orioles were unable to contain Magdalen Simon, who scored 28 points. Megan Rockwell followed with 18 points, half of which came from beyond the arc. Emma Belter also scored in double figures with 10 points.

 

MCFARLAND 67, BRODHEAD 58

MCFARLAND — Abbie Dix did everything she could to help Brodhead win, but the Cardinals dropped a Rock Valley Conference game on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Dix recorded a double-double with 33 points and 21 rebounds, shooting 13-for-28 from the field and 4-for-10 from the free-throw line. Alecia Dahl was the next highest scorer with nine points and eight rebounds. Alexis Kammerer and Taetum Hoesly fouled out of the game.

The duo of Teagan Mallegni and Adrienne Kirch led the way for McFarland, totaling 18 and 17 points, respectively.


DODGEVILLE 56, DARLINGTON 52

DODGEVILLE — Although Darlington attempted nearly double the shots of Dodgeville, the Redbirds were just 20% percent from the field in their loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Kylie Butler’s shot seemed to be the only ones to fall, as she scored 20 points with four 3-pointers. Aubrey McCarthy and Jaidyn Evenstad tallied nine points each, and McCarthy could have had more hadn’t she fouled out of the game.

Meanwhile, Dodgeville had four players in double figures: Marley Busch (18), McKenna Reilly (13), Ava Garthwaite (10) and Maggie White (10). 


WISCONSIN HEIGHTS 60, MONTICELLO 54

MONTICELLO — The Ponies ran into trouble, as six of their players had three or more fouls, which ended up costing them the game. Wisconsin Heights had 22 opportunities at the line and converted on 13 of them.

Jaden Zuber led Monticello with 21 points, 15 of which came from beyond the arc. Ellie Gustafson also scored in double figures with 19 points. Sadie Wilkins, Dalana Trumpy and Karlee Wilkins were the only others to score.
